Breckenridge is south of I-70 from Frisco (exit 203) on Colorado 9, about nine miles off the interstate. The resort's own mileage from Denver is among the figures we could not read.
The mountain
Five interconnected peaks and nearly 3,000 acres with more than 180 trails, above-treeline intermediate and expert terrain, and the Imperial Express, which Vail Resorts calls North America's highest chairlift; the company's annual report names Breckenridge the most visited mountain resort in the United States for 2024-25. The snippet-only figures (a 9,600-foot base, a 12,998-foot peak, 187 trails) come from search results attributed to breckenridge.com, which would not load for us, so treat them as unconfirmed.
Read with care. Breckenridge's own website would not serve its mountain-info pages to us when we checked on 2026-09-01; the figures above come from Vail Resorts' newsroom and annual report, and the page names which numbers are search snippets only.

The tip sheet calls the parks progressive and award-winning; the park pages themselves could not be read.
Season and hours
Vail Resorts' 2026-27 release projects a November 6, 2026 opening, subject to change, after a November 7 opening in 2025-26.
Rules worth knowing
- Lift count, terrain breakdown, park names, and the uphill policy could not be read from breckenridge.com when we checked; read them on the resort's site before you go.
Everywhere in Colorado, the Ski Safety Act and the Responsibility Code apply, including the rule that every board carries a leash or other retention device.
