Policies

Rental policies

The terms that apply to every rental, written to be read before you book rather than argued about after.

Draft for the opening season. These terms take effect on the date shown below and apply to bookings made on this site, by phone, or at the counter. Where this page and a booking confirmation differ, the confirmation governs that booking.

1. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed when payment has been received and a confirmation code has been issued. Choosing a pickup day online places a fifteen-minute hold on the gear while riders are added and the release is signed; a hold that is not paid within that time is released automatically and nothing is charged.

Payment is by card through Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and are never seen or stored by us. Prices are per package as shown at booking, in US dollars, and include the board, bindings, boots, and a helmet. Packages may also be booked and paid for at the shop.

2. Cancellations and refunds

A booking cancelled 24 hours or more before its pickup time is refunded in full to the original card. Cancellation is available online under "Look up a booking" until that deadline.

Inside 24 hours, refunds are at our discretion. Please call; where the gear can be re-let, or a change of date is possible, we will do that first. A rider who has not picked up by noon on the first day without notice is treated as a no-show, and the booking is not refunded.

Snow is not something we can promise. If a resort you planned to ride closes for weather or the highway to it is shut by CDOT, tell us before your pickup time and we will move the booking to another date or refund it in full, your choice. If we cancel a rental for any reason, the same choice applies. Refunds go to the original card and typically appear within five to ten business days, depending on the issuer.

3. Damage deposit

At pickup, a damage deposit is authorized on the card used to book: $100 per sport package, $250 per performance package, and $50 per kids package. The authorization is a hold, not a charge. It is released in full when the gear is returned on time and in the condition it left in, allowing for normal wear such as base scratches and topsheet chips.

Damage beyond normal wear, and gear that is lost, stolen, or not returned, is charged against the deposit at the cost of repair or replacement, with photographs and an itemised statement. Core shots, snapped boards, and cracked bindings are the usual cases. A charge larger than the deposit is billed to the same card, and we will always talk to you first.

4. Pickup and return

A rental day runs from the time we open until the time we open the next morning. A one-day rental picked up on Saturday comes back by 8:00 am on Sunday; a three-day rental picked up on Friday comes back by 8:00 am on Monday. Come in when we open on your first day and you are on the highway by a quarter past.

Returns are accepted any time we are open on your last day, and at the counter when we open the following morning. Gear returned after that morning's opening is charged as a further rental day at the one-day price. If you are going to be late, call; a phone call before the deadline is nearly always cheaper than the charge.

Bring a photo ID and the card you paid with. The named rider on each package is fitted at pickup; a package cannot be handed to someone who has not signed the release.

5. Fit, bindings, and safety

Every package is set up at the counter to the rider's boot size, stance, weight, and stated ability. Tell us honestly; the settings depend on it. Bindings are not to be adjusted by the rider beyond the strap and highback adjustments we show you. A rider who wants a different setup comes back to the counter, at no charge.

Helmets are included with every package and we ask that you wear them. Riders are responsible for riding within their ability and for following the Your Responsibility Code and the posted rules of the resort they ride at. Our gear is rented for lift-served, in-bounds resort riding; backcountry use carries avalanche risk we have not assessed for you and is at your own risk.

6. Riders under 18

A parent or legal guardian signs the release for any rider under 18 and is responsible for the gear. Our kids packages fit riders from about 100 cm boards upward; if you are unsure whether a rider fits the kids or the sport package, book the kids package and we will swap at the counter if needed.

7. Weather and road closures

Colorado's mountain highways close, sometimes for a day. We publish the sources we check on the conditions page, and we do not charge for a rental you could not use because the road was shut, provided you told us before pickup. A resort's own operating decisions, lift closures, and snow quality are theirs and outside these terms.

8. Sales tax

Prices are shown before sales tax. How Colorado rental tax is collected is confirmed before the first live booking.

9. Privacy

We keep your name, email, phone number, and the signed release for as long as the law and our insurer require. We do not sell or share them. Payment is processed by Stripe under their privacy policy; the site runs on Amazon Web Services. There is no mailing list, and the only messages we send are about your booking.

10. Effective date

These policies take effect on the opening day of the 2026-27 season; the date is set when the shop confirms it.
